Potterville is known as the "City of Helping Hands" and it's strong sense of community involvement is supported by the Chamber of Businesses. The chamber members work together with government and residents to bring new industry, retail and service companies to the area. The annual hometown "Gizzard Fest" offers many fun activities and events that draw people from all over the state. The festival is held the weekend of Father's Day each year and is open to everyone. The parade, fireworks display, gizzard eating contest, and car and motorcycle shows, are just a few of the events people enjoy each year.
With its central location and close proximity to Lansing, many families are moving to this rapidly growing city. The charm of small town living combined with expanding business opportunities and a progressive school district offers a comfortable alternative to urban living.
The center of rapidly expanding Eaton County is located 12 miles southwest of Lansing, Michigan's capital. Surrounded by Benton Township, the Potterville area is proud of its businesses with the completion of I-69.
All units of government are working together to ensure a rapid expansion of the community. A Tax Increment Finance Authority has been formed to help develop Temporary 69 into an attractive downtown business district.
Potterville, with its ideal location, provides easy access to Lansing. This allows ideal living conditions for commuters to Lansing as well as those with businesses in Potterville. Michigan's State Capitol, Michigan State University, and Lansing Community College are all within twenty miles of Potterville.
